Labradorite Facts:

 -Mohs Scale : 6 - 6.5.

 -The name Labradorite comes from where it was "officially" discovered in Labrador, Canada in 1770. While there is some debate on that, as it is known to be used by the Maritime Archaic for over a thousand years. There are also well-known Inuit legends that say the Northen Lights were once imprisoned in a rock, and a wandering Inuit warrior freed the lights from the stone with his spear, returning the lights back to the sky. In summary, the true discovery date of labradorite is unknown and a mystery to all.  In addition to its rich history, Labradorite has a magnificent sheen and array of colors that truly resemble the great Norther Lights.
